Due to retirement, Minatare Public Schools is currently accepting applications for the following position: 

Maintenance and Transportation Director 

General Duties include: 

1. Oversee external facility care 

2. Oversee internal facility care 

3. Coordination of the scheduling and maintenance of the transportation fleet 

External facility care: 

1. Grounds 

2. Watering systems 

3. Equipment 

4. Coordinate custodial staff 

5. Coordinate services with vendors 

Internal facility care: 

1. General upkeep and repair of facility 

2. Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, and mechanical systems is desirable 3. Coordinate custodial staff 

4. Coordinate services with vendors 

Travel fleet: 

1. Collaborate with administration and drivers to develop a calendar to meet the transportation needs of the  district 

2. Maintain a schedule of preventative maintenance for transportation fleet 

3. Coordinate services with vendors 

Administrative Duties include: 

1. Collaborating with the district office regarding purchases and ordering materials/services/vendors to  help address various functions of the district 

2. Managing the maintenance staff and contributing to the evaluation process 

3. Contributing ideas and services to meet the goals of the district’s strategic plan 

4. Assist in the training of district transportation providers

Desired Skills/Knowledge 

1. Organized 

2. Self-motivated and hard-working; high personal performance standards 

3. Excellent communication and collaboration skills 

4. Connections with local businesses that provide various utility, maintenance, and transportation services 5. Ability to work with others effectively 

6. Possess, or be willing to obtain with district financial assistance, a CDL-B or better for occasionally transporting students 

Salary and Benefits 

1. Base salary is $50,000.00. Final initial salary will be determined by knowledge, qualifications, and  experience. 

2. District pays full premium of single Blue Cross Blue Shield health and dental insurance policy. Policy  has a $650 deductible. 

3. Deductible reimbursement of $550 upon meeting deductible. 

4. District pays full premium for $15,000.00 life insurance policy, as well as long-term disability policy 5. 24 days of discretionary leave annually with a maximum accumulation of 40 days. 

6. Earnings subject to Nebraska Public Employee Retirement System (NPERS). District match of  contributions to NPERS is 101% of employee contribution.
