Parents and Community Members,
On November 11, 2026, Minatare Secondary will host a Veterans Day Celebration. The objective of the event is to raise awareness of the importance of the sacrifice of the men and women who have served in the armed forces. Learning about veterans and the sacrifices they make is important in building gratitude. It is the objective of Minatare Secondary to foster a sense of gratitude for what Americans have given to provide the freedoms that exist for all regardless of race, religion, or socioeconomic status. Knowing that freedom comes at a cost and that great countries like ours don't happen by accident will hopefully inspire our students to do their part. This does not mean that we are pushing every student toward military service, but all our students should come away from their time at Minatare with a sense of pride in their country and duty to their community, state, and country.
The Veterans Day event will kick off on November 11, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. It will take place in the gym at Minatare Secondary. All students, including those at Minatare Elementary, will attend. The event will include the playing of the National Anthem, presentation of the colors, and the opportunity for our students to hear from veterans who live in the community.
In connection with the event, our middle school students will be writing letters of gratitude to our veterans, which will be presented at the event. Our high school students will receive lessons on the importance of Veterans Day and why veterans' sacrifices should be appreciated in the lead-up to the event. Also in the works, High School Students participating in our art program will be working on a Veterans Day mural and are anticipated to complete it sometime before the end of November. The Mural will be proudly displayed in the front hallway.
Community members are welcome to join us. We ask that all visitors check in at the front office. Government Photo ID may be required for admission.
