Today has potential for some pretty severe weather. Attached is a statement from the Minatare Public Schools Superintendent Mr. Robbins regarding the Safe Room/Tornado Shelter located at the High school. Stay alert and safe everyone!


Hello Minatare Families, this is a reminder to you all that this week will be the last week for the Afterschool program so please have other arrangements for your children next week. The staff will be taking next week to plan and prepare for summer school to begin. Summer school begins at 8AM May 30th for both the Elementary and the Jr. High schools. Breakfast will be served at 7:30 AM and Lunch will be served at 11:30 AM. Both are open to the public and free of charge to anyone under the age of 19. We hope to see lots of students come to the Summer Program for some learning and lots of fun!

To culminate our studies on Native Americans, the students in Mrs. Wurdeman and Mrs. Grote's had Edison Red Nest as a special guest. We learned to sing a Native song, say numbers in the Lakota language and how to play Lacrosse. We have some future Lacrosse stars among us!











The students in Mrs. Grote's class released their butterflies this morning. We were lucky to have one dance around the dandelions before flying away.

The Minatare Elementary Spring Concert will take place tomorrow night, Tuesday May 9th at 7:00PM in the Minatare High School gym. Come out, grab a seat and watch all of the hard work that the Elementary students and Mrs. Stacey Sailors have put in.


Mrs. Grote's class has spent the last 21 days watching over our incubator eggs and waiting for them hatch. We learned how the embryo changes from the first heartbeat to hatching day. These chicks will go home to live in Mrs. Wolf's chicken coup!











Minatare Kindergarteners enjoyed their Trip Back in Time at the Legacy of the Plains Museum. They learned about rope making, homemade toys, shucking corn and much more.











Minatare Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for an elementary education teacher for the 2023 – 2024 school year. Minatare Public Schools is a Class D-2 school. Coaching opportunities are available but not required. The district has also approved a 4-day week calendar. Students will attend Monday-Thursday, with Fridays being used as either professional development time for staff or district scheduled leave time. Base salary starts at $36,300. The district offers full single BC/BS Health Insurance or 90% district coverage for Spouse/Child/Family policies.
Start date will begin August 2023


To shake off the winter, sixth graders created one last bulletin board for the year to make the hall more springy and summery!

A form to order Big Red Nebraska Popcorn has been sent home with all Elementary and Preschool students. We hope you will consider purchasing popcorn to help the Sunshine Committee.
The Minatare Elementary Sunshine Committee Members are selling Big Red Nebraska Popcorn for a fundraiser this spring. The Sunshine Committee is a group of staff members who do fun and uplifting things for our teachers and students. In the past, we have purchased T-shirts for all students and staff, and we put together things to help boost staff morale and host the Student Christmas store.

Sixth graders are hard at work trying to escape Mount Tarawera by working through vexing vocabulary, exposition, evidence, symbolic journeys, and so much more during writing class. What group will escape the mountain first-- The 3 Musketeers, The 3 Smarty Pants, The Fantastic Three, or The Dazzling Trio??

For over a month, Mrs. Grote's kindergarten class has worked hard to earn a special visit. During our recent farm unit, we learned how important irrigation is for local crops. This afternoon, we got to see one of Grote Excavation's ditch cleaning machines.
